Venting Board > From expert sleeper to total mess.....

so my 6 month old baby boy has been sleeping through the night since he turned 4 months, long silent wonderfull 10 hour stretches of uninterrupted sleep. Until his experience on earth reached the 6th month mark.... now everything has dramatically changed.
he is barely drinking his recommended 30-32 ounces of formula, some days he barely reaches 20! He blatantly refuses all sorts of solids (homemade stuff, earths best, gerber, you name it i have tried it!) he is waking up 3-4-5 times a night wailing without any console, that is until his little head hits my mattress. i know this is terrible, but i work full time and some days i just dont know what else to do, so i give in and take him into our room! since this has been happening i have been walking through everyday life like a complete zombie, totally out of it!
the pediatrician says this is completely normal and to just try to follow the schedule we had, but i feel like its getting harder and harder and honestly somedays that schedule just goes out the window completely.
i would really love to hear any advice and comments! (and any words of encouragement will help as well....)

keep with it...this is the time when a lo of babies start testing moms & dad out. he is getting more & more used to seeing you, and may be waking up to have your company. i would agree with your dr. you should let your baby cry it out, unfortunately, if you want to have him back on his dream schedule of sleeping through the night. he will protest for a few nights, but will eventually learn that the night is for sleeping in his own bed. if you don't have a problem with having a family bed, then i would say go along with what you are doing...but that doesn't seem to be the answer you want to hear.

i know it is tough. he is going through a LOT of changes right now. M refused to eat solids for a long time! it took a VERY long time for her to get used to it, and now she likes to eat a lot of things by herself...so that makes things hard also. every mom and baby goes through ups & downs. just know that you will get through it...you are doing a great job!!!

i hope this does help a bit!!! let us know if you need any more help!
